A Southern California native, Dr. Acevedo completed both his undergraduate and medical school training at UC Irvine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and received multiple awards for scholastic and clinical excellence. He then pursued an orthopedic surgery residency at LAC+USC Medical Center, where he was elected administrative chief resident and earned the Herman Epstein Award, recognizing him as the top senior resident in his class.

Dr. Acevedo further refined his expertise in shoulder and elbow surgery through a prestigious fellowship at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. During this time, he trained under world-renowned surgeons and gained advanced skills in shoulder and elbow replacements, arthroscopy, instability procedures, upper extremity fracture management, rotator cuff repairs, tendon transfers, and sports-related injuries—including Tommy John surgery (UCL reconstruction).

An accomplished researcher, Dr. Acevedo has authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and surgical training videos focused on shoulder and elbow surgery. He is also an active educator, serving as faculty for various local and national courses. His research interests include biologic augments for rotator cuff tendon repair, shoulder arthroplasty, and Tommy John surgery outcomes.

Committed to evidence-based medicine and cutting-edge treatments, Dr. Acevedo specializes in minimally invasive shoulder replacements and treats a wide range of patients, including competitive and recreational athletes.
