After earning his Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Los Angeles, Dr. Bastian attended Chicago Medical School in Illinois. He then completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. During his time there, Dr. Bastian received recognition for his dedication with the Resident Teaching Award. He then returned to California to complete a fellowship at the Cedar-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute in shoulder and elbow reconstruction. There, he studied under the prestigious surgeon Dr. John Itamura.
